Tackle Your New Year’s Resolutions Head On

Christmas is fast approaching, followed by the wonderful turn of the year, and a huge list of New Year’s resolutions. Did you know over 75% of gym members join in January? Yeah, I didn’t either, but I could have guessed! There’s nothing like a clean slate, a beginning, a re-do to get you in the mood. The mood for change!

A new year, a new you, a new goal. From healthier eating to sweating it out on the elliptical, you’re going to push through and reach those goals. #Goaldigger

I’ve made my own list of resolutions.
Drink one less margarita on Taco Tuesday.
Push that extra mile on my daily run.
Keep on-top of organization.
Grow my business and hit those monthly goals!
Spend more time with my family.

Have you sat down to make your list? Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or something simple and quirky, it really matters. The important thing is a happy, confident, driven you and whatever you need to get to that version of you.

New Year’s Resolutions are something I really look forward to at the turn of the year. I know they have a reputation of being phoney and empty, but you know what? They aren’t. They’re more than a few words scribbled down in a journal. They’re a seed planted in your mind. A seed that takes root and begins to grow and spread throughout you. It’s about taking that me time to just reflect and to expand my horizons. It was harder than I thought, and I think every year it gets a little harder (I had to throw the margarita one on there to keep my humour in check!), but every year the pay off is so worth it.

So, be that goal digger. Don’t just write out your New Year’s resolutions and forget about them. Take your time in self-reflection because it all leads to action. Action is a wonderful thing, but don’t forget life needs balance. So along with the action, you need to remember to take care of yourself—to treat yourself. Don’t forget that! You 100% deserve it.

Splurge on a deep massage after a particularly rough work out. Get yourself a new French tip manicure and spend the day shopping with your friends. And you better not forget to wine and dine yourself (or have someone do it for you)!

Lastly, open that Christmas gift you got yourself —yes, I’m talking about that sexy, work it all day, boldly colourful, statement activewear you bought yourself for Christmas. Be more than just words on a list. Be bold. Be brave. Be a goal digger.
